It's Party Time
It’s party time! Or should I say polling time? A by-election is here again, this time in Pengkalan Pasir, Pasir Mas, Kelantan. A DUN seat left vacant after the demise of the elected representative whose name I don’t bother to memorize. He was a PAS representative, winning the state seat just by 55-vote majority – or should I say margin.
A by-election is special because it is isolated from the General Election. Now all parties will get to concentrate on one small constituency. BN will be at full force to get the votes, and considering the margin that they lost to PAS in the last General Election, they will be full of confidence. PAS will bank on their Islamic image and err… and nothing else.
Whatever the outcome, the people of Pengkalan Pasir will be the beneficiary. Roads will be improved with new layer of tarmac; they will get a new hall, and so on and so forth. And Pak Lah and Najib will by now know where Pengkalan Pasir is.
To me, I am critical of the government (BN). Most of their decisions have not gone well with my version of right and wrong. BUT, I don’t think there is a political party to better them. As such, should I am to cast a vote, they are the one to get it. Or I don’t vote at all if I don't like the candidates.
